Description
The Atmel SAMA5D4 Xplained Ultra demo board is a rapid prototyping and evaluation platform built around the ARM Cortex-A5 microprocessor. It features rich multimedia, storage, and networking interfaces with support for Linux, Yocto, and bare-metal C packages. This board is ideal for makers, engineering students, and embedded developers building advanced connected projects.
High-performance processing and memory
Powered by the Atmel SAMA5D44 Cortex-A5 microprocessor, the board includes 512 MB of DDR2 memory and 512 MB of NAND Flash memory for demanding embedded applications. It also embeds an EEPROM programmed with a unique MAC address and serial number.
Comprehensive connectivity and display
The platform provides an HDMI port, LCD connectors, a 10/100 Ethernet MAC with PHY, and three USB connectors comprising two host ports and one device port. Expansion is straightforward with dual SD/eMMC and MicroSD slots, Arduino R3 shield headers, and Xplained Wing compatibility.
Flexible power and development options
Power can be supplied via the USB Micro-AB connector, an external 5 V 2 A DC adapter via the 2.1 mm power jack, an Arduino shield, or the Embedded Debugger interface. It supports Linux Mainline, Yocto, Linux Kernel 3.10 with LTS, and standalone C development packages.
