Description
The Gizmo 2 is a second-generation open-source x86 development board powered by an AMD Embedded G-Series System-on-Chip. It combines high-performance computing and discrete-class graphics with microcontroller-style I/O in a compact 4-inch by 4-inch form factor. It is ideally suited for makers, educators, and embedded system developers requiring parallel processing and robust connectivity.
Dual-core processing and graphics
The board features an AMD GX-210HA dual-core processor combined on a single die with AMD Radeon HD 8210E graphics. This architecture delivers 85 GFLOPS of processing power while drawing only 9 watts TDP.
Versatile connectivity and expansion
Gizmo 2 provides Gigabit Ethernet, dual USB 3.0 ports, dual USB 2.0 ports, HDMI video and audio output, and dedicated HD audio input and output. Storage and add-on expansion are supported via a microSD card slot, an mSATA/mini PCIe connector, and high-speed and low-speed card edge connectors.
Graphics and software support
Hardware support includes DirectX 11.1, OpenGL 4.2x, and OpenCL 1.2 to enable parallel compute and high-performance visual processing. The platform supports operating systems including Linux and Windows Embedded 8.
