Description
The KY-023 dual-axis XY joystick module provides responsive two-dimensional analogue control alongside an integrated pushbutton switch. It reads directional movements via dual 10k potentiometers, outputting proportional voltage levels across the X and Y axes. This versatile input module is ideal for students, hobbyists, and makers building robotic controllers, gaming interfaces, and interactive electronics projects.
Dual-axis analogue and digital sensing
The module uses two 10k bi-directional potentiometers to track movement along the X and Y axes, providing two continuous analogue voltage signals. Pressing the joystick downwards engages an integrated digital switch for Z-axis push button input.
Simple microcontroller interfacing
Operating across an input voltage range of 3.3V to 5V DC, the board connects directly to development boards via standard 5-pin headers labelled +5VCC, GND, VRx, VRy, and SW. At a 5V supply, the resting centre voltage sits at approximately 2.5V and scales smoothly from 0V to 5V depending on the direction of deflection.
What is included
The package includes one KY-023 dual-axis XY joystick module for Arduino.
