CJMCU-5837 MS5837-30BA Water Pressure Sensor Module, 0 to 30 Bar, I2C

The CJMCU-5837 is a high-resolution water pressure and depth sensor module capable of measuring pressures from 0 to 30 bar. Powered by an onboard 24-bit ADC, it provides precise digital pressure and temperature readings over a standard I2C interface. It is ideal for makers, students, and educators developing submersible telemetry, weather, or underwater robotics projects.

High-precision depth tracking

Featuring an ultra-low power 24-bit delta-sigma ADC, the module delivers an RMS resolution of 0.2 mbar to detect depth changes down to 2 mm. Its absolute pressure measurement range of 0 to 30 bar allows for reliable operation at depths up to 300 metres underwater.

Simple microcontroller integration

The module interfaces with virtually any microcontroller over I2C without the need to program complex internal registers. During setup, your software reads the six factory-calibrated PROM coefficients to calculate precise, compensated pressure and temperature data.

Rugged build and low power consumption

The internal MEMS elements are shielded by an antimagnetic stainless steel cap and a specialised dielectric gel fill. Designed for efficiency, the module runs on 3 to 5 V and draws only 0.6 µA during operation and under 0.1 µA on standby at 25°C.

Operational and enclosure recommendations

An external mechanical enclosure with an O-ring (typically 1.8 mm x 0.8 mm) is recommended to protect the breakout board traces during submersion. Additionally, the gel-covered sensing elements must be allowed to dry for at least 2 hours each day to prevent long-term saturation drift.
