Bluetooth V2.0 Serial Shield for Arduino, Master and Slave

This Bluetooth Shield integrates a serial Bluetooth module to enable transparent wireless communication for Arduino, Crowduino, and Seeeduino development boards. It supports user configuration in either Master or Slave mode to suit a wide variety of wireless setups. It is ideal for students, makers, and hobbyists building wireless control and telemetry projects.

Wireless performance and connectivity

Powered by the CSR Bluecore 04-External chipset, the shield delivers Bluetooth V2.0+EDR wireless serial communication across a 2.4GHz band with Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH). An on-board PCB antenna supports an indoor operating range of up to 10 metres without obstacles.

Flexible serial configuration

The module operates over a UART TTL interface with programmable baud rates and standard SPP firmware. You can communicate via hardware serial on pins D0 and D1, or select any two pins from D0 to D7 to run software serial.

Master and slave operation

The shield can be set as a master or slave device using standard configuration commands. Slave mode allows pairing with external hosts such as PCs and PDAs, while master mode can pair directly with other slave modules.

Shield form factor and IO expansion

Built as a standard shield, the board seats directly onto Arduino-compatible headers for quick assembly. It also expands five analogue IO connections to allow straightforward integration with additional peripherals.
