The BBC micro:bit V2.2 is a pocket-sized programmable computer designed to make learning to code fun and accessible. Packed with an upgraded Arm Cortex-M4 processor, on-board sensors, and wireless connectivity, it lets you create everything from games and music to robotics projects. Upgraded processing and connectivity

Powered by an Arm Cortex-M4 CPU with 512KB of flash memory, the micro:bit V2.2 provides ample performance to store and execute your programmes. It features built-in Bluetooth connectivity and a higher power output of up to 200mA for connected accessories.

Integrated sensors and inputs

The board features a 5x5 LED matrix display, two user control buttons, and a touch-sensitive logo. Built-in hardware includes an accelerometer, compass, temperature sensor, microphone, and speaker, alongside a sleep and off mode.

Backwards compatibility and connections

The micro:bit V2.2 is fully backwards compatible with previous micro:bit versions, software, and accessories. It includes a 20-pin edge connector featuring refined indentations to prevent crocodile clips from slipping off.

Getting started and programming

Getting started requires only a power source and a PC or mobile device. You can flash your code via a USB cable or wirelessly over Bluetooth, and your programme remains in the on-board flash memory ready to run repeatedly until you upload a new project.
