Ai-Thinker RD-03D 24GHz FMCW Radar Sensor Module

The Ai-Thinker RD-03D is a compact 24GHz millimeter-wave radar sensor designed for high-precision human motion sensing, presence detection, and trajectory tracking. Powered by an integrated SoC with intelligent positioning algorithms, it provides real-time speed, distance, and multi-target tracking data. It is an ideal module for makers, students, and developers building smart automation or presence-aware electronics projects.

Advanced FMCW radar sensing

Operating in the 24GHz K-band ISM band, this sensor uses Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave technology with Iclegend's S5KM312CL chip. It provides a detection range of up to 8 metres with an accuracy of ±0.15 m and a range resolution of 0.75 m.

Intelligent tracking algorithms

The integrated microcontroller processes proprietary radar signals to detect multiple targets in a designated area. Built-in algorithms identify motion trajectories, measure target speed and distance, and report status changes in real time.

Interface and mounting options

The module communicates via a high-speed UART serial interface operating at a default baud rate of 256,000 bps. Its compact 15 mm × 44 mm footprint supports both ceiling and wall mounting configurations with a wide field of view.
