5MP CSI Camera Module for pcDuino3 with OV5640 Sensor

The 5MP CSI Camera Module is a high-definition imaging solution featuring the OmniVision OV5640 system-on-a-chip sensor, designed specifically for the pcDuino3 single-board computer. It provides complete camera functionality, supporting up to 1080p HD video at 30 fps and 720p HD video at 60 fps. This compact module is ideal for students, hobbyists, and makers building computer vision and video recording projects.

High-definition imaging performance

The OV5640 sensor utilises 1.4-micron OmniBSI backside illumination architecture to deliver low-light sensitivity and 5-megapixel image quality. It supports 1080p HD video at 30 fps as well as full field-of-view 720p HD video at 60 fps using 2x2 binning.

Integrated image processing and stabilization

An internal anti-shake engine provides image stabilization, while a post-binning re-sampling filter reduces edge and spatial artifacts. Automatic onboard controls handle exposure, white balance, band filtering, 50/60 Hz luminance detection, and black level calibration.

Interface and integration

Designed to plug into the pcDuino3 CSI interface, the camera module incorporates an integrated JPEG compression engine to streamline data transfer over bandwidth-limited interfaces. When installing onto the board, point the camera outward toward the pcDuino3.
