Legal for FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Eligibility is set by each season's game manual — check the current rules before you compete.
The barrel nut, while simple, is incredibly versatile when paired with a 12mm clamping hub. This two-piece approach allows you to adjust the axial position of the mating component by loosening a single pinch bolt and also allows you to rotate the lead screw nut inside the clamp to achieve the exact position before clamping in place. Pair this with a second lead screw nut and you can clock the barrel nut relative to the other lead screw nut to eliminate backlash.
