Legal for FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Eligibility is set by each season's game manual — check the current rules before you compete.
A collar is often used to constrain a bearing on a shaft. A shim is commonly used between the collar and the bearing- this prevents the collar from contacting both the inner and outer race of the bearing which would add friction. This collar has a built-in shim which means it can contact the bearing directly without the need for a separate component between them.
