The pinion gears here are able to mount on a shaft without the need for a hub. While pinion gears are most commonly associated with being the first gear in a geartrain, they certainly don’t have to be. If your build is going to take a beating, consider 8mm REX. These gears are constructed of hardened steel and mount with two set screws for excellent hold on 8mm REX shafting.This 24 tooth 8mm REX bore pinion gear is ready to rip! The bore perfectly matches our 8mm REX shafting to create a positive drive. While little work is left for the set screws, we put two of them in for good measure. This particular gear is most commonly mated to a 96 tooth hub gear to create a 4:1 ratio. However, if your build provides the freedom to adjust the spacing between your gears, it’s able to mesh to any MOD 0.8 gear that suits your fancy. Notice the counterbore on the top side of the gear - this allows you to run right up against an 8mm bearing without the use of a shim!
