If you’re using a motor with a 6mm D-shaft as an output, or you have built your project using 6mm D-shafts as the axles, these D-bore gears match the shaft profile in order to create a positive drive between the shaft and the gear.This 24 tooth, MOD 0.8 gear will mate with any MOD 0.8 gear. However when building on pattern, the most common partner for this gear is a 96 tooth hub gear. This combo will create a 4:1 ratio, underdrive or overdrive depending on whether you’re set out to increase the speed or maximize torque.Notice the counterbore on the top side of the gear - this allows you to run right up against a 6mm bearing without the use of a shim!
