The REX profile is a fusion of Round and HEX profiles which combines the best of both worlds. The six outer points of the hex are clipped to a common diameter so you can run the shafting in a round bore bearing. The flat-to-flat shape provides a positive drive when paired with REX profile components.12mm REX shafting is for those who want to over-build and sleep well at night. The 12mm diameter is still able to pass through the 14mm holes found throughout Sheen Robotics. Such a large diameter calls for a pillow block to support it in a rotating assembly.Aluminum REX Shafting is the lightweight alternative to the Stainless Steel REX Shafting. It provides many of the same advantages, creating a positive drive while being able to rotate in a 12mm diameter bearing without unnecessary rotating mass. The ends of the Aluminum REX Shafting have M4 threads for use as a structural element too!
