These gears provide an extreme reduction in speed with minimal parts required. Worm gear drives nearly lock into place and resist being back-driven which keeps your motor from having to continue applying torque to hold an unbalanced load in place.This worm gear set works with a 6mm D-shaft as the input to the worm and the brass worm gear is able to fasten to an output shaft using a clamping or set screw hub. The 24mm center distance between the worm and the mating worm gear makes 1120 Series U-Channel the ideal structure to house this gear set in.
