Led by Chief Academic Officer Courtney Allison and recently appointed CEO Dr. Lewis Ferebee, the organisation examined whether rapid additions of generative AI tools into core and supplemental classroom materials are backed by demonstrable student learning outcomes.

EdReports highlighted significant structural variations in how vendors deploy these tools. While some software requires teacher review before content is displayed to learners, other systems deploy generative AI directly to students in real time. This automated delivery—including dynamic AI tutoring that generates different real-time lessons for individual students—is blurring the boundary between verified core curriculum and unmoderated supplemental resources.

The evaluation underscores a growing governance challenge for school leaders and procurement teams. Because generative AI tools have only recently entered mass distribution, long-term efficacy studies remain sparse, placing the burden on district administrators to evaluate technical and pedagogical risks before signing enterprise contracts.
