The EdTech Quality Collaborative has released the EdTech Quality Indicators Guide, a framework establishing five quality indicators to assist school and IT leaders in vetting and selecting educational technology tools.

The collaborative brings together six prominent ed-tech organisations: Digital Promise, 1EdTech, CAST, the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA). The joint initiative aims to standardise evidence-based decision-making across districts evaluating an increasingly crowded market of digital tools and platforms.

The release signals a coordinated effort by major education bodies to establish formalised purchasing benchmarks, helping institutions ensure potential software and hardware investments demonstrably meet operational and pedagogical requirements before procurement.
